People Stories
Most of my riders are kind enough to indulge my curiosity about their life story. I am often entertained during the ride with stories of life time successes, such as an opera singer who took up her profession after bearing four children; and a guitar playing engineering professor who taught himself German so he could travel and teach in Germany; and a particularly inspiring lady who played golf weekly until she was 89. Others have born amazingly successful offspring and those stories are fun too.
All of my riders are loquacious in their appreciation and that makes me beam for the rest of the day, knowing I could be of service to others.
I first volunteered for a different role, one for which there was little demand. I was doubtful that I would enjoy it when I agreed to be a driver. I love it! I keep a busy schedule, but try to get one drive in a week. It makes me feel so good.
